Blade 1936 Review

My wife and I celebrated our belated anniversary dinner last night at one of the local Oceanside restaurants , Blade 1936.  We have been coming here for a number of years now, have always enjoyed our food and service, and it was about time that I finally left a positive review!

5 Stars

My wife and I have been coming here for several years now.  We have always been met with wonderful food and terrific service.  We went to back again to Blade 1936 last night for our anniversary, and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and left happy with the quality of food and and overall delighted with the experience.  Last night the waiter asked up front about the pacing/timing of our food and said he could speed things up or slow things down based on how fast or slow we wanted to enjoy our drinks, appetizers, main course, and desert.  I thought that was a nice gesture as I can't remember when that has happened before. Great job Blade 1936, keep it up and we will happily keep coming back for more!

I have been trying out a lot of different gear during the course of my trail running over the past several months.  I picked a couple products that really stood out to me to review and here are the customer comments I left this week:

MyBand Atacama Ultra Hydration Soft Flask - Running Water Bottle - 750ml/25oz Capacity - Leak Proof Collapsible Bottles – Food Grade TPU Material - Wide Cap Opening & Straw Cleaner - Pack of 2

5 Stars (Amazon said it may take a few days to review and post my comments)

Just what I was looking for!

After going through several different types of collapsible bottles over the past several months, I was starting to think that the perfect bottle didn't exist.  Collapsable for me is a must since it cuts out the sloshing noise that comes with the traditional hard plastic bottles.  I need the longer straw caps because trying to crank my mouth down on a normal cap always gets me a mouthful of beard which can be frustrating.  These bottle straws are completely adjustable so I can put them at the exact height that works best for me.  As advertised, I didn't notice any foul plasticky taste at all, these are completely tasteless.  I really appreciate that these bottles were designed by ultra runners and all of the little aspects have all been very well thought out.  For my longer runs, I use these for my carb/salt water up front and the added volume (750ml) really helps to extend distance between my refueling stops. I haven't raced with these yet, but after using them for about a month now, I wouldn't want to go into my next race without them! Great product, and I will be buying more next year as stocking stuffers.

Palmyth UV Protection Fishing Fingerless Gloves UPF50+ Sun Gloves Men Women for Kayaking, Hiking, Paddling, Driving, Canoeing, Rowing

I love these gloves!

I have only used them a couple times, but they have worked perfectly so far, just what I was looking for.  I have been doing a lot of trail running lately in sunny SoCal, sometimes being out in the exposed sun for 6+hours at a time.  I sweat a lot, so the sunscreen really hasn’t been working all that great as I have noticed the sunspots on my hands continuing to get worse.  I tried wearing running gloves, but anything above 50 degrees and my hands started to get too hot.  These gloves are perfectly aerated on the palms and the light material on the top is barely noticeable when I am running.   The extra padding around the thumb and forefinger is nicely placed and made these the perfect gloves for using with my hiking/running poles.  I won’t leave on my next trail run without these on my hands!  Good job on the design on these.
